Water has a very special place in Middle East culture. In this region, everyone knows its inestimable value and especially appreciates good, healthy water. Makkah Water is one of the most traditional companies in the field of bottled water in Saudi Arabia and produces, among others, the well established brands “Safa” and “Mozn Pure Natural Water”.

Dr Peter Schropp, water expert at Doemens Academy, held a water sommelier course in Jeddah at the beginning of December for employees from the company’s technical and quality assurance departments. Especially the sensory variety of the mineral water samples impressed the 14 participants. The manifold positive nutritional-physiological effects of the minerals found in water also attracted great interest.

At the end of the ten-day course, a specially made cake was served to celebrate the successful completion of the examination. Doemens Academy congratulates the new Water Sommeliers and wishes them much success in the future with water – a valuable resource in this region!
