Since its launch in 2004, the Doemens Biersommelier program has developed into a unique success story. More than 2,000 German-speaking participants have been inspired by their passion for beer and now apply the expertise gained during the course in a wide variety of professional fields.
The program enjoys an outstanding reputation throughout the brewing industry, the hospitality sector, and the retail trade. Certified Doemens Biersommeliers are highly sought-after experts. Many of them are actively involved in the Association of Beer Sommeliers, with the shared mission of enhancing the image of beer culture and bringing greater public recognition to the profession of the beer sommelier.
Worldwide, the title “Biersommelier” is closely associated with Doemens Academy. Over the years, the program has been successfully established by Doemens in 17 countries, in eight languages, across four continents. As a result, the international network of certified Doemens Biersommeliers has grown to more than 6,000 professionals.
Every two years, the top beer sommeliers compete for the world championship title at the World Cup of Beer Sommeliers.
The Doemens Biersommelier course is officially recognized as an advanced professional training program at the Doemens Academy and is therefore exempt from value-added tax.
